James Madison Facts & Dolly Madison’s Recipe 

He was the last of the Founding Four Fathers to become president from 1817-1825. He is most known for the ‘Monroe Doctrine.’ His efforts in the war of 1812 were soldiers fought against Great Britain during his presidency. Here is Ms. Dolly Madison’s recipe for Cinnamon cakes.

Ingredients

Cinnamon (Woodbury Cake)

Butter

Sugar

Flour

Baking powder

Cinnamon

Milk

Instructions:

Cream 2 tablespoons butter with 1 cup sugar. Add 2 cupssifted flour mixed with 1 teaspoon baking powder and 2 tablespoons cinnamon.Add milk and beat together thoroughly. Bake in a large pan at 350 degrees F. 20to 30 minutes, or until done.
